A perfect cabin site awaits you at 5,600 ft elevation on your very own peak with incredible views for miles down a ridge to the west. Build the cabin in the mountains that you’ve always dreamed of where you can finally get away from civilization, falling asleep under the stars and listening to the sounds of nature all around you. Or, pull your camper in and hunt on your very own piece of land. Very close to the famed Missouri and Dearborn rivers for premier trout fishing, this property also touches over 500 acres of BLM land on the SE corner for hunting and further recreation. It lies close to the Continental Divide, the Helena and Lewis and Clark National Forests, the Scapegoat Wilderness, and Glacier National Park. If you’re looking for a piece of land to fulfill all of your hunting, fishing, and outdoorsman dreams, this one is a no brainer.
The small town of Cascade, MT is about an hour away, and it’s perfect for gas, groceries and small town restaurants. And if you find yourself in need of some more modern conveniences, you can get to Great Falls in about an hour and a half, and Helena in about two hours. You can get yourself way out into the backcountry and still reach civilization in a reasonable amount of time if you need to.
- 520 Acres of BLM land touch the Southeast corner of the property.
- Peaceful, remote location in the backcountry
- Spectacular mountaintop views
- Tons of trees throughout the property.
- Prime hunting and fishing getaway
This area is truly an outdoorsman’s paradise. Cascade County is home to plenty of wildlife, such as bighorn sheep, deer, antelope, eagles, and more. You’ll be surrounded by world-renowned fishing spots. The Missouri River, one of the world’s premier trout streams, lies about 7 miles to the East. Sawmill Creek, known for its largemouth bass, channel catfish, and bluegill, runs through the parcel of BLM that touches the Southeast corner of this land, and continues to the Southwest. It eventually runs into Dearborn River, which is a great spot to wade or float and fish. The Helena National Forest is just under two hours away, where you’ll find the scenic Gates of the Mountains. Follow the path taken by Lewis and Clark down the Missouri River, and explore one of the last best places.
The Missouri River is dotted with plenty of towns and attractions, so you can’t run out of places to explore. Nearby Wolf Creek is rich with history. It’s a prime spot for hiking, water activities, skiing, dining, and more! The town of Craig lies along the river, just downstream from Holter Lake Reservoir. Holter Lake is a coveted fishing spot, and has plenty of campsites, swim areas, and 5,000 acres of water activities. For the rock lovers, Tower Rock State Park is about 20-30 miles away, where you can learn all about the history and geology of the area.
The road to this property is rugged and requires 4x4 capabilities. This area gets snowed in during the winter. It would be a great snowmobile ride in and a veritable winter wonderland to explore after a blanket of fresh white snow. It lies only about 14-16 miles from the interstate depending on the route you take to get to it. The route highlighted in the MapRight map and our Turn-By-Turn directions was easily traversed with a 4x4 truck.
There are plenty of roads in the area to drive and ATV in the summer or snowmobile in the winter. The private nature of this area means there won’t be many people passing through – only landowners can use the roads. An easement appurtenant runs with the land to access this property, along with the right to “use, maintain, change and alter the roadway so that it may be useable at all times.” Most other properties in this remote location have a similar easement in place and there are no public roads that go through the area; because of this, the access is not insurable by title companies.
Any interested buyers wanting to view the property must be with a licensed real estate agent – Please call us before viewing!

Rachel made the entire land purchase a "piece of cake". She walked me through everything and was right on top of things. As soon as I sent the money, the deed was notarized and recorded only a couple of days later. I just visited my new property in Wolf Creek Montana today and I am very pleased with the purchase. Thank you again 😊
The Ashbrook Land Company is a superb company. Their communication skills and desire to help you obtain the land of your dreams is top notch. Probably some of the best service I’ve had when buying a piece of land. I would recommend them to anyone.
I just purchased a piece of land from Ashbrook Land Co., LLC, and I am very happy with the professional yet personal approach that Bob and Rachel Ashbrook gave to me.The whole process was easy and painless, and only took a couple of days. Everything was done online, but I felt completely secure giving out my personal information, because I think the Ashbrooks are truly honest people to deal with.
